How it started

Fifteen years ago. Purdue University, Indiana. Eman Alsabah and Alaa Aldarazi were writing their first story in a shabby dorm room, drawing inspiration from Arab culture, mythology and folk tales. They identified a clear lack of representation of Arab voices in mainstream television and envisioned a platform which would champion their voices.

After graduating, Eman and Alaa went their separate ways, with Eman pursuing a career in consulting and Alaa pursuing a career in education management and child development. Their passion for the creative industries endured and intensified. Fast forward to 2020, Alaa and Eman decided to leave the traditional corporate world and pursue their dream full-time. They launched Fablemill, a boutique production house with the goal of empowering creatives in the Arab world to share and celebrate the region’s mythology, tradition, and culture.

How it’s going

Today, Fablemill is an award-winning creative collective: We bring stories to life, empower creators, and advance entertainment industries. We are a global network of creatives which showcases stories rooted in Arab mythology, tradition and culture.

As part of our offering, we work with global partners to pursue projects in production, publishing and meet their advisory needs. We have over ten projects in development, and are always searching for voices that resonate with ours.
